There are a lot of videos on YouTube but not to many covering the step sequencer in the MPC, I decided to give an entry real world usage of the Step Sequencer.

In this video I use one of the kits from my Expansion packs I created from Native Instruments: Elastic Thump. I then took some of the samples that came loaded on one of the preset kits, and cloned it to make another Drum track so that I could use those samples and separate from the drums.

I also used the step sequencer on the guitar riff that I loaded in Fabric XL. There are some good workflow tips, you might not catch them but you can hear them, One is when using the step sequencer it can make the drums stiff.

If you add some shuffle, and then speed up your tempo (holding shift to find the exact bpm that feels good) you can get a nice swing on the drums. For those that like no quantize you can still utilize the step sequencer to put your root notes on grid, and then play everything else off grid.
